Indian 2 Wheeler unit sales stood at 21.2 million units in 2019 and are estimated to reach 26.6 million units by 2025 at a CAGR of 2.6%. Domestic two-wheeler sales increased in the first quarter of 2021-22 as compared to the same quarter of the previous year. The majority of the automobiles sold were gasoline vehicles, which emit significant amounts of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.
The government has also launched several measures to bring about a revolution of electric vehicles to curb pollution. However, sales of electric vehicles remain low when compared to gasoline vehicles. The fundamental cause of this disparity is the lack of an appropriate EV ecosystem that is tailored to the country’s road conditions and vehicle demand. One of the major challenges is that there aren’t enough charging stations, especially in the country’s major cities.
To convert this challenge into an opportunity, eBikeGo, India’s largest electric two-wheeler mobility platform, has created the most economical IoT-enabled smart charging solution, eBikeGo Charge. eBikeGo charge can be accessed via the eBikeGo Charge Mobile App. Wi-fi enabled, it can even monitor real-time charging statistics for a seamless charging experience.
eBikeGo Charge (www.ebikego.com/charge), a one-of-its-kind charging station, will be installed every 500 meters, enabling riders to start and stop anywhere, anytime. Once the battery is fully charged, it automatically shuts off. It offers predetermined recharge plans as per the user’s demand, making it very cost-effective. For a hassle-free experience, it offers an integrated payment mechanism.
eBikeGo Charge will be available in Mumbai, Bangalore, Indore, Pune, New Delhi, Amritsar, and Hyderabad, among the seven cities where eBikeGo is now functioning. In a year, eBikeGo plans to deploy 1 lakh eBikeGo Charge – Charging stations. The company has already begun to deploy these charging stations in Mumbai.
With a 3-Pin power connector, eBikeGo Charge includes distinctive LED lighting for different charging states. It has a 190V-240V power range with a 50Hz AC output of 16A/3.3kW. It features OCPP, Wi-Fi, RFID, and a mobile app. Machine learning and AI are used to power this one-of-a-kind, portable charging station. It displays revenue graphs as well as a heat map of usage information. It has a proper error and complaint management system that will send out automated error resolution alerts in the event of a problem when charging.
“We are extremely happy to deploy our smart charging stations – eBikeGo Charge in all of the major cities where electric vehicle demand has increased. This measure would not only assist to increase demand for electric vehicles and develop the country’s EV ecosystem, but it will also help to reduce pollution and battery swapping system issues, which are major concerns in a country like ours. In a year, eBikeGo hopes to deploy at least one lakh charging stations. These charging stations are AI and IoT-enabled, and they can be operated via the eBikeGo App. eBikeGo will use this to strive to realize its dream of an environmentally friendly mode of transportation” said Irfan Khan, Founder & CEO of eBikeGo.
