A Doctor by profession and a philanthropist, Dr. Angela Khanna, recently won the Mrs. India Pride of Nation, Ravishing 2021, 1st runner up along with the title “Beauty with purpose”. Dr. Angela, a Delhi native, graduated with honours from Modern School Delhi and MAMC, where she was the first dental student in Maulana Azad College to win a gold medal in medicine and surgery. The aspiring Angel woman is currently enrolled at Guru Gobind Singh University in Indraprastha, where she is studying an MBA in disaster management.

Dr. Angela Khanna’s Father – Er Anil Puri worked as a Chief Engineer in the Government of India, Mother Dr. Sunita Puri worked as a principal at Delhi University and is also an author. Sister Prof. Saguna P Singh is a senior professor at Ramjas Delhi University. Dr. Angela Khanna completed her schooling at Modern School Delhi, graduated as a topper from MAMC, the first dental student in Maulana Azad College to earn a gold medal in medicine and surgery. She is also a part of the executive committee parents teachers association Modern school Barakhamba road.

Dr. Angela Khanna has been married for the last sixteen years, beautiful wedlock arranged by her parents’ choice. Her Husband – Amod Khanna is a proud modernite, C A, MBA, Masters in Software Technology and Managing Director of CMCORPS, India. Father-in-law Sh. Promod Khanna is a Chairman of a leading group of companies CMCORPS. Her Mother-in-Law – Smt. Kiran Khanna served as a professor in Daulat Ram College, Delhi University and was an executive member of the National Forum of teachers. Dr. Angela Khanna has two lovely children Anya 15-year-old girl, a grade 10th student of Modern school; and Ayaan, a 7-year-old son, a grade 2nd student of Raghubir Singh Modern School.

How I Started My Journey Of Mrs. India Pride Of Nation?

This journey started way back last year when my husband made me apply for this one of its kind pageant with the cause of raising awareness on breast cancer, Mrs. India Pride of Nation, ravishing 2021. Thereafter there was no looking back. Pageant directors Barkha Nangia and Abhishek Nangia organized various sessions of grooming each contestant in fields of beauty, cooking, yoga, fitness, ramp walks, talks and holistic health. With 17000 contestants from all over India to become 1st runner up and titleholder Beauty with Purpose was a dream turning real!

Where Do I Want To See Myself In Field Of Glamour?

I am grateful for this facet of me being discovered. Becoming a crown holder brings responsibilities and magical power too. I would utilize this dream platform to rise and shine as a goodwill ambassador of hope, dreams and reaching the zenith of glory, inspiring each married woman out there to dare to dream and believe in her potential.

Why I decided to offer free services as a doctor for 21 years?

The decision to render free services to my country was taken much before I decided to become a doctor. I have been a very emotional and sensitive kind of a person to the pain and needs of disabled, economically weaker sections. As a child, I saw my parents and sister do a lot for the needy and apart from arranging aids for the needy, educate them for a bright future, and so I guess it was in my blood!

What motivates me to offer free services as a doctor?

My mother once said “I have a magical power to heal patients”, and the same thing was quoted by my husband…they believe the day I charge my power to heal will fade, and now I wish to believe the same!  Also, I guess my nation is short of souls like me, who keep all lure of money, designer holidays, luxury brands far later than etching to serve a hand in need first….

My Role As A Doctor In Pandemic?

• I rendered 24/7 free services to the nation from online to offline treatments, medical consultations.
• I was a sole contact-free forum for Medical supplies, injections, medicines, oxygen concentrators, cu set up.
• I was providing free food water supplies to all organizations like temples, dharamshalas, shelter covid camps, Gurudwaras.
• I affiliated with Womenovators CovidCare givers, New Delhi to reach out to more places.

How And When I Got Into Social Service?

• As a child of 6 years, I saw my family doing noble deeds all through educating and funding the needs of the poor and homeless so I became a default social worker as a child.
• Our birthdays were spent in NGO’s and way back serving treats to street children, so it was already inculcated way back in me

Specific Cause I Want To Work In Social Service

• I am already working on my dream to banish female foeticide and would love to make the literacy rate of India 100%
• I have silently served as a philanthropist from age of 6 and wish to do so till I breathe…

My Vision And Goals In Life

I want to rise to phoenix and become a torchbearer woman philanthropist who inspires each one to become selfless human and nation lover with a determination of progress and development with a holistic perspective, and be beautiful inside out…

My Achievements

As a doctor

• Was a proud participator of many health camps, health melas and social service camps.
• As a Cultural secretary of the college, I conducted fundraising fashion shows, street plays, health talks and campaigns for economically weaker sections.
• I became fortunate to work with WHOM, World Health Organization (WHO) as a Research Associate and worked as Assistant editor Springer magazine UK international Publishing.
• I extended my services to various NGOs like Palna, Prayaas Cheshire Home, WHO and several organizations working for downtrodden, ailing children and elderly.
• I am proud to share that I have completed my 20 years of free services to different hospitals like Rainbow, PSRI, Apollo, Fortis, Max, LNJP and many more.

• I was awarded as the Covid Warrior of the nation.

• Best Clinical Expert awardee 2021.
• Influential Award.

It’s only because of phenomenal family support that anyone can tread ahead, so I pay humble gratitude to my den of love.

My Well Being And Spiritual Side

Those who know me well actually baptized me a pandit coz of my spiritual inclination. I have travelled nationwide pilgrimage destinations annually from Vaishnodevi, Amarnath, Mahakaal Ujjain, Mathura, Fatehpur Sikri, Dargas, churches to endless soothers.

I believe in fasting a week for detox and spiritual awakening to keep me grounded and humbled marathon winner, swimmer, and dancer for fun and being positive, not comparing my journey of life to anyone, go-getter attitude keeps me going …

Lighter Side Of Me

As a die-hard Punjabi, I believe in one KEY … SANNU KEY… simple mind game is to mind one’s business and stay away from political sights, lol I believe laugh away any undesirable situations and spend good happy times with child within you and around you.

My Guide, Mentor In Life

As a child, I had many people around me to pamper and teach me being youngest in house, but to date; there is one Woman who guided me on the path of righteousness and morality, my elder sister Saguna. Despite ordeals and turmoil’s, grave situations, she believes in standing like a tigress and never indulging in self-pity, she soared high with her invincible inner power. She inspired me to rise and shine and help each human touch, my soul, without any expectations and be balanced in each challenge life throws on you.

My Advice for All for Being Protected From Covid 19, Omnicorn Variant “Be a responsible citizen of your nation. In the end, if you take care of social distancing, masks, sanitization, good health and hygiene practices, you tend to impart unknowingly awareness to your fellow beings!”
