Students react to the NEET PG 2021
The National Board of Medical Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) stated the NEET PG 2021 result on September 28, 2021. The cut-off for the general category including UR and EWS, has a cut-off of 302 marks at the 50 percentile, whereas for SC, ST, and OBC, the cutoff is 265 marks, which corresponds to the 40 percentile, and for UR-PWD the cutoff goes to 283 leaving the percentile of 45.
Last year, the revised cut off was 30% for general, 25% for PWD, and 20% for SC, ST, and OBC.
It is clear to see that the cutoffs have increased significantly from the previous time. In past years, it has been found that cutoffs for PG NEET have typically increased by 7.6% each year. The cut off was projected to be higher than 260 this time. However, with a 302 cut off, the minimum score required to qualify for counselling has increased significantly. Medical counselling plays a critical role in ensuring that students acquire a thorough understanding of all aspects of the medical industry in order to make better informed and productive decisions.
Students are disappointed with their results since they do not match their calculated outcomes, and as a result, they are contacting the NB to get clarification why the grades they obtained do not match the grades they anticipated. As a result, students are tense and very confused. On speaking to one of the aspirants of NEET PG and current student of Mr. Gaurav Tyagi, Shashank Pandey said, “ We are hoping that the cutoff may decrease to some extent after round 2 as counseling has not yet been started for this as there is no such news from the government but the counseling is expected to take place around 20th october shall be planned out .”
In addition, candidates on the other hand, are now awaiting revised cut off dates. Revised cut offs are most likely to be announced if the number of people qualifying for counselling falls below a predetermined threshold, according to MCI. So, you have to be at your level best if you want to study in top colleges in the country with the desired branch in MS/MD/DNB.
