Prime Minister Narendra Modi Virtually Inaugurates Gomti Nagar Railway Station in Lucknow

Lucknow, February 28th, 2024: It was a historic moment in Lucknow as Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated the revamped Gomti Nagar Railway Station in Lucknow through video conferencing on February 26th. The ceremony witnessed the esteemed presence of Shri Rajnath Singh, Hon’ble Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, present in his constituency to grace the occasion along with Ved Parkash Dudeja, Vice Chairman – Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA).

The grand inauguration ceremony was graced by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Shri Yogi Adityanath, and Smt. Anandiben Patel, Hon’ble Governor of Uttar Pradesh, both of whom were present virtually, furthering the significance of this milestone in the development journey of Uttar Pradesh.

The architectural brilliance behind the redevelopment plan is credited to CP Kukreja Architects, led by Managing Principal Dikshu C. Kukreja. Explaining the vision behind the project, Dikshu C. Kukreja highlights the strategic importance of Gomti Nagar as an emerging commercial and IT hub in Lucknow. In the words of Dikshu Kukreja, “As architects, our vision for the Gomti Nagar Railway Station redevelopment extends beyond mere infrastructure upgrades. We envision a transformative project that catalyzes economic growth and enhances the overall quality of life for the residents of Lucknow.”

Passengers traveling through Gomti Nagar Railway Station will experience a paradigm shift in their travel experience with the implementation of airport-like facilities. The redevelopment project, meticulously supervised by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, aims to transform the station into a modern transportation hub aligned with the aspirations of a progressive India.

The redevelopment plan envisions the Gomti Nagar Railway Station as a mixed-use development, leveraging its prime location to enhance transportation connectivity and stimulate the regional economy. Spanning a combined area of 60 acres, the project integrates a 40-acre commercial land parcel with the existing railway infrastructure, creating a dynamic and vibrant complex.

The redeveloped railway station is replete with modern-day infrastructure and facilities like free Wi-Fi facility, escalators, an executive lounge, a baby feeding room, and CCTV cameras for the safety and security of passengers and visitors….to name a few.

The integrated development approach aims to generate revenue through the sale of services developed on the retail side of the land parcel, facilitating the financing of infrastructure improvements and enhancing passenger amenities.
