Hope to clean Yamuna by 2025, alternative fuel can solve stubble burning: Delhi CM at Chaupal

Delhi: Alternative fuel or biofuel can save us from the issue of stubble burning and we hope to clean the Yamuna by 2025, said Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal on the issue of alarming pollution levels in an event titled ‘Chaupal’ of Network18 in Delhi. Targeting the Modi government on farmers’ issue, he also said that the Central Government issued notification on MSP for 23 crops but picked only two crops on MSP.

“The country is important to us. We all should come together to take it forward. We need innovative ways like alternative fuel or biofuel that can not only save us from the issue of stubble burning but can also benefit farmers. We also hope to clean Yamuna by 2025. Today along with better schools, colleges and hospitals, pilgrimage for the elderly has benefited people a lot and seeing the good work done by us, people from other states are also looking at us,” he said during the event.

The Chaupal event is hosting impactful debates on the upcoming elections, role of opposition, the roadmap to 2024 elections and other raging issues. The Day 1 witnessed eminent dignitaries speaking on enlightening sessions such ‘Kaisa Hai Naya Bharat’ with Union Environment Minister Bhupendra Yadav, ‘Satta ka Highway’ with Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari, ‘Congress ka Kayakalp Kab?’ with Congress leader Randeep Surjewala, ‘Cinema ka Shehzada’ with Bollywood actor Kartik Aryan and ‘Kiska Hoga Uttar Pradesh’ with Sanjay Singh (AAP), Gaurav Vallabh (Congress), Sambit Patra (BJP) and Anurag Bhadouria (SP).

The 2-day summit being held on 1-2 December is bringing India’s top politicians, thought leaders, policy makers, sports and film stars come together to discuss, debate and deliberate the contemporary issues that India faces. The agenda of this year’s edition is set around themes such as 75 years of Independence, 50 years of Indo-Pak 1971 War (Bangladesh), upcoming Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Punjab among others, key socio-political and economic issues, and the way forward.
