DULCIA ART presents Legends- A Retro Musical extravaganza
Bengaluru India 13 February 2024– DULCIA ART presents a new series “LEGENDS” and the first episode will be a musical tribute to the legendary singer Kishore Kumar, on 25th February at Dr.B R Ambedkar Bhavan at 6 PM, . This will be a dedicated musical evening on his unique melodies, and the songs will be presented by three well established artists, Prashant Naseri, Ravindra Shinde & Shifa Ansari, they will be accompanied by some of the India’s best instrumentalists and the renowned anchor Sandeep Panchwatkar will host the show. These singers will be presenting some rare gems from Kishoreda’s collections, along with many popular ones. Kishore Kumar. Kishoreda, unarguably is the most versatile and one of the best multi-genre, singers India has ever produced. In this 3.5 hours, well systematically designed, and craftly curated concert, you will be listening to some of the timeless songs of Kishore da composed by such luminaries as S D Burman, Khayyam, Rajesh Roshan, Laxmikant Pyarelal, R.D. Burman, Bappi Lahiri, and Kalyanji Anandji, among many more.
Known primarily for his gifted, effortless, and vibrant singing, Kumar was actually a complete entertainment package in Hindi films — being also an accomplished actor, lyricist, composer, producer, director, screenwriter — and both on and off screen, its biggest eccentric. From “Khwab ho tum ya koi haqeeqat” to “Pal pal dil ke paas”, “Zindagi ke safar mein maqam” to “Khaike paan Banaraswala”, and “Khilte hain gul yahan” to “Kya yehi pyar hai” , Kishore Kumar’s mellifluous voice still reverberates for stars from Dev Anand to Dharmendra, Rajesh Khanna to Amitabh Bachchan, and Shashi Kapoor to Sanjay Dutt, in a range of emotions, moods and situations. Kishoreda has nearly 3,000 songs (including a duet where he sings the female side in falsetto) from 1,200 odd films, he also went on to act in about 90 films between 1946 and 1982.
Prasanth Naseri is a world record holder in non-stop singing of 165 songs of Kishore Kumar in 16.5 hours. He has been in this musical industry for more than 2 decades and have performed at more than 15000 venues. Ravindra Shinde has been a “de-facto” Kishore Kumar singer for the several decades now and has enthralled many many audiences through his impeccable style. Shifa Ansari has been performing with almost all the leading singers in this industry. These singers will be well supported by a 15 highly experienced and well known instrumentalists, which also include, one of the India’s best string-groups – Cochin Strings.
Rajeev Gopalakrishnan who directs the event says, “This will be a real musical treat for the true Kishore da fans, having some of his “not-so-heard” but “must-heard” songs too. The event will be a musical travel through kishore da’s various melody genres, where his unique and adorable rendering styles as well as the tonal variances are re-presented, lively. It will be a different musical experience altogether “
