Vehant Technologies to install Dual View Xray Baggage Scanners at 70 Indian Airports

New Delhi, January 19, 2023: Vehant Technologies, an IIT -Delhi incubated company pioneering in security and surveillance products, has received an order from Airport Authority of India for supply and maintenance of dual view X-ray baggage scanning machines for passenger screening at 70 airports all over the country.

The order is worth INR 90 Crore that includes 219 Dual view X-ray baggage scanning machines to be deployed within 8 months across 70 airports in India, including airports in Chennai, Kolkata, Jammu, Srinagar, Trichy, Pune, Udaipur, Varanasi, Jodhpur, Prayagraj and the like. This is the first of its kind that an Indian company has received such an order to deploy indigenous scanners at various airports in India.

Vehant Technologies has a long association with Indian airports & high security government buildings and has deployed its products at several airports in the past such as Hindustan Aeronautics Limited- Aircraft Division and airports in Patna and Kolkata, Parliament House, PMO to name a few recent deployments.

The USP of the product is that it provides a dual view of the scanned carry-in baggage which will increase the possibility of identifying contraband /threats inside the bags. It gives both vertical and horizontal views of the screened luggage at the same time. The dual view provides more efficient and quick identification to the operator.

Mr. Kapil Bardeja, CEO, Vehant Technologies, said, “We aim to complete the order ahead of time. The X-ray baggage scanner is one level above the existing scanners with its dual view technology. We have completely developed the products in-house including the X-ray imaging software which will ensure the security of information.”

He further added, “During the scanning, newly installed large-sized monitors with high resolution images will also ensure quick and instant assessment of any explosive, arms threat etc.”

The machines are designed and manufactured in India under the Make in India initiative of the government of India. The support and service will be easily accessible to the airport authority. With the push from this initiative, Vehant has developed and manufactured technology of global standards required for the airport sector and reached this momentous milestone. With this phenomenal achievement, Vehant is all set to compete with global giants as well.
