“INDIA -VIETNAM DIRECT BUSINESS RELATIONS PACT” : Indian Chamber of Commerce hosted Business Conference to build Business Collaborations with Central Vietnam

New Delhi, September 13th, 2022: Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) jointly with the Consulate General of India in Ho Chi Minh City, the Ministry of External Affairs in Vietnam hosted a Business Conference on the occasion of the visit of a delegation from Khanh Hoa province of Central Vietnam to India. The Conference was held today from 10.00 am to 1.00 pm at Shangri-La Eros, Janpath, New Delhi

The conference was aimed at fostering the participation and dialogue between various stakeholders including governments to look out for business opportunities between the two nations.

Present at the event were H.E. Mr. Le Huu Hoang, Standing Vice Chairman, Khanh Hoa People’s Committee, Mr. Vishwas Vidu Sapkal, Joint Secretary (South), Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, Mr. C Rajsekhar (OSD States), Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, H.E. Dr.Do Thanh Hai, Minister Counselor- Deputy Chief Of Mission, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Government of Vietnam, Mr. Dheeraj Puri, Chairman, Northern Region Committee, Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC), Mr. Debmalya Banerjee, Regional Director of Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC), Mr. Nichollas Hides, CEO and Founder- Blue Gum Capital, Mr. Rajat Chatterjee, Director Indusind Bank, and Mr. Le DucTien, Chairman, Khanh Hoa Sanest Soft Drink Joint Stock Company.

As he welcomed everyone to the conference, Mr. Dheeraj Puri, Chairman, Northern Region Committee, Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) said, “It is my pleasure to have such visionaries here with us under one roof. India has always deemed its relationship with Vietnam is a prized one and today we all are gathered here to strengthen the ties by following the commerce route.”

H.E. Mr. Le Huu Hoang, Standing Vice Chairman, Khanh Hoa People’s Committee said, “It is an exciting Idea to be able to collaborate with India in various commercial transactions. We look forward to understanding and exploring Indian counterparts to augment and propel FDI in Vietnam.”

Mr. C Rajsekhar (OSD States), Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India stated, “I congratulate Indian Chamber of Commerce to initiate this conference showing how keen we are and to foster ties with Vietnam and seize the opportunity to show how much we appreciate accomplishments of the country during war times and even now.”

Mr. Debmalya Banerjee, Regional Director of the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) shared his views, “India’s friendly relations with Vietnam go back to the pre-independence era and we have stood by each other during trying times. The two countries are celebrating the 50th year of Diplomatic Relations and even at Virtual Summit 2020, leaders of both nations came together and shared a joint vision for peace and prosperity of its people. Working on Bilateral Economy is going to prove as a pillar for future partnerships that India and Vietnam will have; accordingly, the campaign will provide efficient supply chains and facilitate long-term investments to boost each other’s economy, encourage e-commerce, promote joint ventures, facilitate business travels between two countries, transfer of technology, holistic healthcare, and sustainable agriculture.”

Remarkable progress is expected in the tourism and medical tourism sectors with 4-hour direct flights from Delhi/ Kolkata to major cities in Vietnam. Moreover, the exchange of traditional medicines between India and Vietnam will be an area for quantum growth. The event was followed by Business Networking and an exhibition of medicinal products from Vietnam.
