Bihar to Allocate Over 30 Mineral Blocks by September 30, Mining to Begin from October 15

Patna, August 18: Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary has announced that the state aims to allocate more than 30 mineral blocks by September 30, with mining operations expected to begin on October 15. The announcement was made at an event in Patna on the auction of critical and strategic mineral blocks.

Choudhary said the tender process for 28 mining blocks is currently underway and the state has made progress in surveying mineral resources. The government has surveyed 44 blocks and plans to complete the survey process within nine months. He said the state would utilise its mineral resources for development while ensuring that its historical and cultural heritage is protected.

The move is expected to boost mining-related economic activity, generate state revenue and create employment opportunities. The Chief Minister also said Bihar plans to establish a mineral centre and is working to attract investments of around ₹5 lakh crore by November, as the state seeks to accelerate industrial and economic growth.
