Hyderabad District Collector, Hari Chandana, inaugurates India’s First Hospital-Based Baby Spa
Hyderabad, 5 September 2025: Fernandez Hospital, known for its legacy of family-centric care, has launched the Fernandez Baby Spa — a first-of-its-kind facility located within a hospital setting in Hyderabad. It was inaugurated by Smt Hari Chandana, IAS and District Collector, Hyderabad, who has a long association with Fernandez Hospital.
Designed for babies aged 6 weeks to 9 months, the spa is located at Fernandez Stork Home, Banjara Hills. It is a serene space that supports early development through hydrotherapy, infant massage, parental bonding and sensory stimulation under expert supervision.
Speaking at the launch, Smt Hari Chandana, IAS and District Collector, Hyderabad, said, “The Fernandez Baby Spa is a unique initiative which combines science, innovation and compassion. Fernandez has created a space that supports both infants and parents in building strong, healthy bonds. Such spaces have the potential to strengthen our public health ecosystem, and I hope others will be inspired to adopt this across the State.”
What sets the Fernandez Baby Spa apart is its integration into a hospital ecosystem and adherence to evidence-based protocols. Parents have peace of mind with paediatric check-ups before every session, UV-sterilised RO-filtered water, and therapies led by certified physiotherapists.
Dr Evita Fernandez, Chairperson and MD, Fernandez Foundation added, “The launch of the Fernandez Baby Spa marks a new chapter for us bringing early infant development and emotional well-being into the heart of clinical care. We believe such a model can set a new benchmark for how hospitals care for families during this tender phase. A baby’s earliest memories should be made up of warmth, laughter and play, that’s what we want the Baby Spa to give every family who walks through our doors.”
Located at Fernandez Stork Home, Banjara Hills, the spa is already drawing interest from new parents and paediatric professionals alike.
