Workshop On Medicinal Plant Cultivation Held

Bhubaneswar: National Medicinal Plant Board (NMPB) in association with voluntary organisation ANANYA has organised a ‘National workshop on Scientific Cultivation and Popularization of Medicinal Plants in Odisha’ in the IMAGE campus here today. Around two hundred AYUSH doctors, researchers, students participated in the workshop.
Benefits of Medicinal plants on society including how to do cultivation of these plants in an improved way and its utilization were the moot points of discussion in the workshop.
Chief Guest Sudip Nayak, CEO of Odisha State Medicinal Plant Board threw light on key aspects like the present status of cultivation of medicinal plants in the State, opportunities and the existing schemes for farmers in the sector to encourage them to do farming on a large scale.
Among others, Retd. DG Ministry of AYUSH Dr Madan Mohan Padhi, Scientist Dr Siba Prasad Mishra, founder secretary ANANYA S K Panigrahi presented their opinion on medicinal plant cultivation status in Odisha.
