Police and OYO joint operation to curb immoral activities in Lucknow hotels
December 06, 2023, LUCKNOW: The police department has initiated a special drive in its fight against immoral activities including human trafficking in hotels in Lucknow in partnership with OYO. As part of the initiative, strict action against those using OYO’s brand illegally will also be one of the top priorities for the police.
The company, committed to ensuring safe and secure stays for its guests, organized a seminar in partnership with the police to raise awareness, educate stakeholders, and promote a collaborative approach in the fight against immoral activities in hotels in Lucknow. More than 50 OYO hotel operators along with top police officials in the city participated in the seminar. The initiative reiterates OYO’s zero-tolerance policy against any kind of immoral activity in its partner hotels.
Upendra Kumar Agarwal, Joint Commissioner of Police, Law and Order, Lucknow addressed the seminar as the chief guest and said “Lucknow is an important city which attracts a lot of visitors. It is critical for us to create a safe and secure environment for them in hotels where all kinds of crimes such as body-related offenses, property-related offences, and cybercrime may occur. Therefore, investing in the proper training of hotel staff is a must for hotel owners. They should be trained to identify suspicious people or activities and empowered to report that to police”.
He also said that though proper record-keeping of guests is important but that moral policing should not be encouraged. In addition to this, hotels should also ensure that CCTV camera in the property and neighborhood is functional all the time.

It also provides regular safety and security-related training to its hotel partners and their employees to watch out for red flags such as guest behavior and unusual check-in patterns and take preventive actions.
