Disciples Unite to Celebrate Padmashri Guru Shovana Narayan’s 75 Glorious Years
Asavari Centre for Kathak announced a special evening titled “Sharanyam,” a heartfelt tribute to the legendary Kathak maestro, Padmashri Guru Shovana Narayan, as she embarks on her 75th year of celebrating life. The event was held on August 22nd, 2024 at the prestigious Stein Auditorium, India Habitat Centre, Lodhi Road, New Delhi.
The evening, as promised, was a mesmerising journey through the world of Kathak, as Guruji’s disciples from around the globe came together to showcase her iconic compositions. From the youngest to the most seasoned dancers, the performance was a testament to Guruji’s enduring legacy and the profound impact she has had on the world of Kathak.
The event was embellished with luminaries from the world of art and culture included Dr. Vinay Sahasrabuddhe, Dr. Sonal Mansingh, Sharon Lowen, Prathibha Prahlad, Sunit Tandon, Sanjoy Roy, Sashwati Sen, Rama Pandey, Kamal Modi, Santosh Bagrodia, Joyshree Arora, Alaknanda Kathak, Shinjini Kulkarni, Ravindra Misra.
“Sharanyam” was an invitation to experience the magic and brilliance of Guru Shovana Narayan through the eyes of her devoted disciples.
