Sabhyata Foundation Brings India’s Heritage to Life with First-of-its-Kind Cultural Evening at Purana Qila
New Delhi, September 29, 2025: Sabhyata Foundation, a Smarak Sarathi, under Government of India’s ‘Adopt a Heritage 2.0’ initiative, hosted a first-of-its-kind cultural celebration at the iconic Purana Qila, showcasing India’s vibrant heritage. Supported by the Ministry of Culture and the Archaeological Survey of India, the initiative aimed to enhance visitor experiences and promote India’s historic monuments through engaging and immersive programming. The event was graced by Chief Guest Shri Vinai Kumar Saxena, Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Delhi; Shri Vivek Aggarwal, IAS, Secretary, Ministry of Culture, Government of India, as the Guest of Honor; and other distinguished guests.
The evening transformed the majestic Purana Qila in the heart of Delhi into a festive hub, showcasing lively Garba and Dandiya performances and a soulful live concert by renowned singer Ms. Pallavi Baberwal. The celebrations brought together communities, blending centuries-old customs with interactive experiences, and demonstrated how historic sites can serve as living spaces for culture, learning, and public engagement.
Speaking on the occasion, Mrs. Avantika Dalmia, Co-Chairman of the Advisory Board, Sabhyata Foundation, said, “India’s cultural heritage is one of our greatest treasures, and it is our responsibility to keep it alive for future generations. Hosting this first-of-its-kind cultural evening at the historic Purana Qila is a step towards making our traditions more accessible and relevant today. This also marks the first event by Sabhyata Foundation since being announced as Smarak Sarathi, making the occasion even more special. At Sabhyata Foundation, we are committed to creating experiences that celebrate our past while connecting communities in the present. We sincerely thank the Ministry of Culture, the Archaeological Survey of India and the Government of Delhi, for their invaluable support.”
As Smarak Sarathi, Sabhyata Foundation is entrusted with the upkeep and promotion of four historic sites in Delhi — Purana Qila, Humayun’s Tomb, Safdarjung Tomb, and Mehrauli Archaeological Park. The foundation’s efforts are focused on enhancing amenities, accessibility, safety, hygiene, and educational experiences to ensure these monuments become must-visit destinations that celebrate India’s living heritage. Building on the success of its partnership with Dalmia Bharat at the Red Fort, where it introduced transformative experiences such as the acclaimed ‘Jai Hind’ Sound & Light Show, Sabhyata Foundation intends to bring the same vision and innovation to these four iconic sites.
