Balancing Mind, Body, and Leadership: Nirvaan Birla on Yoga and Intentional Living
In today’s fast-paced world, where stress and speed have become the norm, yoga offers something rare — stillness, clarity, and connection. On International Yoga Day, Mr. Nirvaan Birla, Entrepreneur and MD of Birla Open Minds and Birla Brainiacs, talks about how yoga continues to influence his life — both personally and professionally — and shares what the practice truly means to him: a space for stillness, family connection, and mindful leadership.
Mr. Nirvaan Birla shared, “Yoga has always been more than just a form of exercise for me. It’s a space where I reconnect with myself. Practicing with my family brings a sense of calm that cuts through the noise of everyday life. It helps me pause, breathe, and focus on what really matters. Doing yoga together also brings us closer. It creates a quiet bond that doesn’t need words. We understand each other better, and that reflects in how we support one another through the ups and downs of the week.”
The young and dynamic entrepreneur further added, “Over time, yoga has shaped how I show up in life. It has taught me that strength can be steady and calm. When the mind is centred, choices feel clearer and actions feel more aligned. I’ve become more patient, more mindful, and more aware of the energy I carry into a room. Whether it’s at work or in relationships, that awareness makes a difference. In a fast-moving world, yoga reminds me to slow down and stay present. It helps me live and lead with intention, and to build with purpose rather than pressure.”
This World Yoga Day, his reflections remind us that yoga is not just about the flexibility of the body, but also of the mind. In choosing presence over pressure, we open the door to clarity, calm, and conscious living.
