Krystle D’Souza gets candid about sharing the screen space with Munawar Faruqui in Amazon MX Player’s First Copy

Mumbai, India 2nd July, 2025: Set in the smoky back alleys of 1990s Mumbai, First Copy, a gripping new series now streaming on Amazon MX Player, Amazon’s free streaming service, transports viewers back in time, where film piracy and underworld ties fueled the city’s cinematic dreams. At the heart of this series is Arif, a street-smart hustler who rises to notoriety by cracking the code of film piracy and turning it into a criminal empire, in turn, drawing the attention of law enforcement, crime bosses, and Bollywood insiders. Featuring Munawar Faruqui, Saqib Ayub, Gulshan Grover, Ashi Singh, and Meiyang Chang in key roles, First Copy also sees Krystle D’Souza as Mona, a former film star who’s lived both the glow of fame and the cost that comes with it. But behind the intense scenes and dramatic turns was a very different kind of energy off camera, especially thanks to her co-star Munawar Faruqui, who plays Arif.

Speaking about her experience joining the set a little later in the schedule, Krystle shared,  “The experience has been nothing short of wonderful. I thoroughly enjoyed shooting for the show, especially with Munawar. It was a blast working with him. He’s a prankster both on and off screen. He’s a riot when it comes to being on set,  always cracking jokes and pulling pranks — the kind of co-star who lights up the set without even trying. Honestly, I never really felt like I was on a set or I was joining midway. They started shooting before me, and I joined a little later. So I thought it might feel a little awkward, but Munawar made it very easy, very smooth.”
