KLAY Preschools celebrated International Yoga Day with over 12,000 mini yogis across India

23rd June 2025, BengaluruKLAY Preschools and Daycare observed International Yoga Day on June 21 across 150 centres nationwide, bringing together approximately 12,150 children aged 2 to 6 in a specially curated yoga sessions tailored to their developmental needs.

The session was led by KLAY’s in‑house educators, who have been extensively trained to conduct yoga-based movement activities that prioritise safety, inclusivity, and enjoyment. Each session being thoughtfully programmed to engage preschoolers through storytelling, music, and playful poses. Children participated in animal-themed asanas such as Cow Pose (Bitilasana), Cobra (Bhujangasana), and Downward Dog (Adho Mukha Svasana) to spark imaginative play. Grounding and calming poses- Easy Pose (Sukhasana) and Child’s Pose (Balasana) will help promote stillness and breath awareness. Balance and strength are built through Tree Pose (Vrikshasana) and Mountain Pose (Tadasana), while flexibility is encouraged with Bound Angle (Baddha Konasana) and Camel (Ustrasana). Mindful breathing will be introduced through playful exercises such as “Smell the flower, blow the candle,” a playful way to teach calming breathwork to even our youngest learners. All of these are seamlessly woven into yoga stories and movement-based adventures that make the practice joyful and easy to follow, making yoga not just a pose but a playful journey of discovering one’s body, breath, and balance

This initiative reflects KLAY’s ongoing commitment to holistic early childhood development, nurturing the physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing of young learners. Yoga and mindful movement are embedded within the daily curriculum, fostering lifelong habits of mindfulness, resilience, and self-regulation and not merely through sporadic celebration, but as part of every child’s routine.
