KIIT World School organized felicitation ceremony to recognize plastic recycling warriors

Gurgaon: KIIT World School organised a felicitation ceremony for Plastic Recycling Warriors Contest 2025 organised by Indian Centre for Plastics in the Environment (ICPE) in collaboration with GoSharpener. The event aimed to recognise the collective efforts being made towards plastic recycling and environmental conservation.

The auspicious ocassion was graced by several eminent guests including Sudhir Khurana, Deputy Director, ICPE, Bharat Jain, Co-founder, GoSharpener, Kuldeep Negi, General Manager, GAIL India Ltd and Mahesh Marwah, Senior General Manager, Supreme Petrochem Ltd.

During the event, students presented an impressive play on the relationship between plastic and environment. The play highlighted the need to raise environmental awareness and recyclingKIIT World School’s “Recycle Garden – Trash to Treasure” was also inaugurated on the occasion.

During the prize distribution ceremony, schools were felicitated for their plastic waste collection . Raman Munjal Vidya Mandir School collected 685 kg of plastic and secured the first position while GEMS International School collected 635 kg of plastic and secured the second position. KIIT World School collected 519 kg of plastic and secured the third position.

KIIT World School Principal, Neelima Kamrah said, “Our aim is not only to educate students but also to make them responsible citizens. It is our collective responsibility to protect the environment and through this programme, children have proved that small efforts can bring about big changes.”
