CIMP Hosts Two-Day Residential Workshop on Innovation, Design & Entrepreneurship for District Education Officers and DIET Members
CIMP hosted two day residential capacity building workshop on Innovation, Design & Entrepreneurship (IDE) at its CIMP campus at Mithapur. The Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education, Government of India, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell (MIC) organised the workshop for District Education Officers and DIET Members.

The chief guest on day one (20th November 2025) was Mr Sunil Kumar, Nodal office, PM Shri Schools, Bihar and the chief guest on day two (21st November 2025) was Dr. Abhay Jere, Vice-Chairman of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and Chief Innovation Officer at the Ministry of Education.
The two day event started with the lighting of a lamp by dignitaries Prof. (Dr.) Rana Singh, Director, CIMP; Mr. Kumod Kumar, CAO, CIMP; Dr. Abhay Jere, Vice-Chairman of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and Chief Innovation Officer at the Ministry of Education; Mr. Vibham Vyas, Startup Fellow & Regional Coordinator, AICTE Delhi (MIC); Ms. Gauri Gopinath, Industry Expert, Wadhwani Foundation, along with senior officials from the HEIs, and over 60 + District Education Officers and DIET Members participated.
Prof. (Dr.) Rana Singh, Director of CIMP, delivered the welcome address. He expressed his delight in hosting the workshop and noted,
“It is a pleasure to witness such enthusiastic participation on the second day. I am confident that this workshop will greatly benefit schools and soon nurture young, innovative minds. I hope today proves to be equally engaging, enabling all participants to gain valuable knowledge and carry it forward to the grassroots level. Dr Abhay Jere, Vice-Chairman of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and Chief Innovation Officer at the Ministry of Education said
“We must prioritize knowledge-based education and foster innovation at the grassroots level, as only then will upcoming generation be equipped to thrive in the emerging gig economy, an economy defined by short-term, flexible, and freelance work where individuals are typically compensated per ride, delivery, or project. He further emphasized the importance of encouraging innovation and idea generation among students, noting that such efforts will pave the way for India to emerge as a global leader.”

The workshop was organised under the School Innovation Council (PM SHRI Schools). The aim is to enhance the innovation capacity of District Education Officers, DIET faculty members, and SCERT officials by strengthening their exposure to innovation-led learning, design thinking methodologies, and entrepreneurship-based problem-solving approaches. This bootcamp was organized in collaboration with the Wadhwani Foundation, renowned for its support of entrepreneurship education.
Ms. Gauri Gopinath, Industry Expert, Wadhwani Foundation, hosted session. A workshop was conducted under the School Innovation Ambassador Training Programme (SIATP), featuring initiatives such as the School Innovation Council, sessions on Design Thinking and Innovation, the Kalam Programme for IP Literacy and Awareness for Schools (KAPLI), Udyamotsav, the Innovation Design Entrepreneurship Boot Camp, and a National-Level Exhibition organized on the occasion of NEP Day celebrations.
Throughout the two day workshop, attendees gained valuable insights into the significance of innovation in education, uncovered practical strategies for driving change, and harnessed the power of entrepreneurial thinking.
