Amity University Haryana, during Innovation Week, Signs Landmark MoU with Signature Global to Advance Sustainable Urban Development and Academic Collaboration
Manesar, 23 September 2025-As part of Innovation Week at Amity University Haryana (AUH), the Amity Academic Staff College (AASC) and Amity School of Architecture and Planning (ASAP) signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Signature Global, a leading name in real estate and sustainable development. The ceremony was held at the AUH campus in the presence of eminent academic leaders, industry representatives, faculty and students.
The event began with a soulful recital of the Gayatri Mantra, setting a serene and auspicious tone for the proceedings.
A Shared Vision for Sustainability
Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) P.B. Sharma, delivered an inspiring address, emphasizing the transformative power of education when aligned with industry innovation. Prof Sharma highlighted the crucial role of architecture and planning in shaping a sustainable future, positioning AUH as a hub of intellectual vibrancy and ethical leadership. Prof. Sharma also outlined the future dimensions of the collaboration, including faculty development programmes, field visits, guest lectures, workshops, CSR initiatives and Beyond Campus events. Prof Sharma further commended the Amity Academic Staff College for fostering continuous professional development and serving as a bridge between academia and industry.
Prof. (Dr.) Vikas Madhukar, Pro-Vice Chancellor, underscored AUH’s commitment to bridging the gap between theory and practice. He noted that AUH ranks among the Top 100 universities in India under the UN SDG guidelines (SDGs 3, 6, 7, and 15) with programs such as MTech and MBA integrating sustainability principles into their curriculum. He stressed that collaborations like this empower students to become innovators and job creators, driving sustainable growth and inclusive development.
Industry Leadership in Sustainable Development
The Guest of Honour, Mr. Sanjay Varshney, Executive Director of Signature Global and Chairperson of IGBC (Delhi Chapter), lauded AUH’s forward-looking approach to sustainability. In his keynote address, he spoke passionately about the urgent need for sustainable urban planning, green building practices, and the importance of blending India’s cultural heritage of architecture with modern innovation. His insights inspired both faculty and students to embrace responsibility, creativity, and industry collaboration in shaping future cities.

Prof. (Dr.) Sanjna Vij, Head & Deputy Director of AASC delivered the opening remarks, highlighting that the MoU represents not just a formal agreement, but a shared vision of integrating academic excellence with industry innovation. Dr. Sanjna Vij emphasized the role of AASC in advancing professional development, innovation in pedagogy and leadership training, making this collaboration a catalyst for sustainability and social responsibility.
The ceremony concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Dr. Ravi Manuja, Registrar, AUH, who expressed gratitude to the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Guest of Honour, faculty, staff, and students. He also acknowledged the efforts of Prof. Dr. Sanjna Vij and Prof. Ila Gupta for their leadership in shaping this impactful initiative.
