Union Bank of India Organizes Financial Inclusion Saturation and Awareness camp at Vilachery, Madurai District of Tamil Nadu
New Delhi, September 4, 2025: Union Bank of India organized a Financial Inclusion Saturation Camp at Vilachery, Madurai District of Tamil Nadu. Vilachery is a small village in Madurai district known for its traditional doll-making. The camp was inaugurated by Shri Ramasubramanian S, Executive Director of the Bank in the presence of Shri Srinivasan, General Manager, Reserve Bank of India. Shri S A Rajakumar, Zonal Head, Zonal Office, Coimbatore and Shri Sabumon M S, Regional Head, Madurai Region were present on the occasion. Large number of customers participated in the drive.
A nationwide campaign has been launched by Department of Financial Services for the saturation of Financial Inclusion (FI) Schemes at the Gram Panchayat (GP) and Urban Local Body (ULB) for three months from 01st July 2025 to 30th September 2025. Opening of bank accounts for unbanked adults under PMJDY; increasing enrolments under PMJJBY, PMSBY, APY; Awareness sessions on digital fraud prevention, among others key goals of the campaign.
Shri Ramasubramanian S & Shri Srinivasan actively participated in the event walking through the streets of the village and pasted “Saturated” stickers on households completely covered under the above schemes. They interacted with the people of the village about financial literacy. Sanction letters of loans were also handed over to various beneficiaries during the camp. Financial awareness skit was also played by the Bank Staff.
