Kolkata based Laser Power & Infra secures ₹836 Crore Utility projects

Kolkata, Nov 26: Laser Power & Infra Limited, an integrated manufacturer of power cables, conductors and other specialised products and components to the power transmission and distribution industry in India, has announced the receipt of new orders cumulatively valued at ₹836 crore from NTPC, Kanpur Electric Supply Company Ltd (KESCo) and Jodhpur Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited (JDVVNL).

These projects fall under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS) and each project entails supply of the company’s in-house manufactured power cables, conductors and system-strengthening materials.

Manufacturing-Led Orders with Turnkey Execution

A major portion of the ₹836 crore project portfolio relates to the supply of Company-manufactured high tension (“HT”) and low tension (“LT”) power cables, Aerial Bunched (“AB”) cables, overhead conductors and system-augmentation materials, with Engineering, procurement, and construction (“EPC”) execution enabling seamless end‑to‑end delivery for the utilities.

Key Orders Include:

  • KESCo, Uttar Pradesh – ₹422.11 crore for system strengthening, involving extensive supply of Company’s distribution cables and conductors, followed by erection and commissioning.
  • NTPC, Jammu & Kashmir – ₹212.06 crore across Udhampur and Reasi for loss-reduction works, where Company’s HT/LT cables, AB cables and overhead conductors form a major portion of the project.
  • JDVVNL, Rajasthan – ₹202.13 crore for feeder segregation and infrastructure development, anchored around Company’s in-house manufactured distribution conductors and cabling systems.

Incorporated in 1988, Laser Power & Infra Limited is an integrated provider manufacturer of power cables, conductors and specialised products and compounds for India’s power transmission and distribution industry. It operates three manufacturing units in West Bengal with a combined capacity of 73,100 MT as of March 31, 2025

The Kolkata based company had filed its DRHP for Rs. 1,200 crore IPO recently, with Rs. 800 crores to be raised as fresh capital and OFS component of Rs. 400 crores. In FY25, the company reported revenue from operations at Rs. 2,570 crores, recording ~40% CAGR from FY23. The FY25 profit after tax (PAT) stood at Rs. 106 crores.

Deepak Goel, Chairman & Managing Director, Laser Power & Infra said, “Over three decades, we’ve built the Company as a manufacturing-driven organisation with deep backward integration — right from manufacturing of aluminium and alloy wire rods to our own XLPE/cross-linked polyethylene and polyvinyl chloride (“PVC”) compounds and even the drums used for packing cables. This integration approach supports cost optimization, strengthens supply chain reliability, and ensures secure delivery of our power cables, reinforcing our strategy of end-to-end operational control and seamless customer execution. While these projects are executed on a turnkey basis, the real value comes from the volumes of cables and conductors we supply from our integrated plants in West Bengal. EPC simply enables us to deliver and install our own products to the same standards we follow inside the factory.”
