Casagrand International School Hosts First Edition of CMUN 2026 With over 200 Students Participating from Across the City

Chennai, July 7 : Reinforcing its commitment to nurturing future-ready leaders beyond the classroom, Casagrand International School successfully hosted its 1st Edition of Casagrand Model United Nations  2026, bringing together over 200 student delegates from leading schools across Chennai. The conference culminated in a grand valedictory ceremony, where exceptional participants were honoured with awards for their outstanding performance in diplomacy, leadership, public speaking, negotiation, and critical thinking. The recognition celebrated students who demonstrated exceptional ability to articulate ideas, build consensus, and approach challenges with confidence and maturity.

Throughout the conference, delegates deliberated on some of the world’s most pressing issues across multiple committees. Students from leading schools, representing over 30 countries engaged in an insightful discussion on global issues, proposing solutions centered on Global Cooperation, Sustainable development and International Peace. Meanwhile, delegates from different schools debated around various committee agendas, highlighting the importance of multilateral cooperation, Informed Policymaking and Collective responsibility. These discussions challenged participants to think critically, negotiate diplomatically, and collaborate towards consensus. 

Designed as an immersive simulation of the United Nations, CMUN 2026 provided students with a platform to debate contemporary global issues, negotiate resolutions, and collaborate with peers while developing essential 21st-century skills. Over the course of the conference, delegates represented nations across multiple committees, engaging in thoughtful discussions that encouraged analytical thinking, consensus-building, and global awareness.

Commenting on the occasion, Ms. Dorothy Thomas, Correspondent, Casagrand International School, said:

The Guest of Honour for the day was Quiz Master Abhishek Bharathkumar. Popularly known as Quizmaster AB, he has hosted over 325 live shows and 300 online events. Through his unique blend of knowledge, humour, and interactive address, he created memorable experiences for the participants and dignitaries alike. He also quizzed the audience on some really interesting topics that kept them enthralled for the entire duration of his address.

Beyond competition, CMUN 2026 reflected Casagrand International School’s philosophy of experiential learning by creating opportunities for students to apply classroom knowledge to real-world scenarios. The conference encouraged participants to develop communication skills emotional intelligence, collaboration, and leadership qualities that are increasingly vital in an interconnected global landscape. 

Through initiatives such as CMUN, the school continues to redefine holistic education by equipping students with the skills, mindset, and confidence required to become responsible global citizens and changemakers.
