I was self-determined and motivated to pursue my dream and my daughter, Archisha has a great influence on me. During childhood, I was more focused on studies but the thought of Ms. India never left my mind.
Q: Sure, your family must have extended huge support for you to achieve your dreams and who according to you played a major role in your achievements?
Meghana: My parents played a crucial role in moulding me into the person that I am now, both of them supported me at every step and still continue to be my strength.
Q: Highlight the daily mantra you follow to maintain good mental health and physical health
Meghana: I wake up with a smile and start my day with a cup of ginger tea. I have followed an exercise regime since childhood and continue to do so. It helps keep me physically fit.
Q: How would you define life before and life after Mrs. India Pride of Nation 2021- Social Influencer?
Meghana: There are events in our lives that we know changed us for the better just by participating in them whether it’s a competitive sport or a beauty pageant. This pageant has changed my complete outlook, and I have started taking care of my body, skin and my looks.
My family and friends are very proud of my achievement and their calls, wishes and messages meant a lot to me. Earlier life was simple, just like any normal Indian girl. This peagent gave a boost to my inner strength and provided opportunities to spread wings.
From helping a few of the known as a Counsellor, now I am aiming at a larger group, this is my prime focus. Beauty with a purpose has made my life worth living for the people who need help and assistance.
Q: One life lesson that you would want every woman to know
Meghana: A woman should never give up her dreams she should believe in herself and she should always remember that it is never too late to achieve anything in life.
Q: What gave you the strength to peruse your dream despite obstacles?
Meghana: It is my motivation levels and self-determination that helped me overcome obstacles and to make it where and what I am today. Self-Motivation and Self Determination is my key to overcome any challenges or obstacles that cross my way. This has helped me to be where I am today.
Q: What is your opinion on gender equality and women empowerment?
Meghana: I think it is more a thought process, but I firmly believe that women are much superior. While pursuing my Master’s Degree in Business Administration, I worked on a project for women empowerment with an NGO and had been to rural areas. The project helped in realizing the importance of education among women.
I do believe there is gender discrimination; it now went a bit low with the rise in the number of educated people in our society. In comparison to other states of India, Kerala is different in this aspect but the situation can be improved in other states as well.
Q: Who was your source of inspiration and what is your advice to women who aspire to be future Mrs. India?
Meghana: Both my parents are my source of inspiration, and apart from them I have grown listening and reading about women like Kalpana Chawla and Kiran Bedi.
With Beauty pageants, it’s always been Aishwarya Rai, Sushmita Sen and Priyanka Chopra. They have made a mark in their life. I would thank Barkha Nangia for creating a platform for married women who are ambitious and aspiring.
For many women, Marriage is the end of their life. I would say there is no age to start over and dream big. Every woman wears an invisible crown and this pageant has given wings to women who dream and work towards it.
Q: Are you associated with any particular NGO or would you like to work for any specific issue or cause that is close to your heart?
Meghana: I am looking forward to join hands with NGO’s and Oncologists as my aim is to reduce Breast Cancer and create Awareness among women. There are so many women who are not aware of or can afford the treatment.
Q: Are you interested in pursuing a career as a model or as an actress in Bollywood if you get a chance?
Meghana: I would love to be a model and walk on the ramp. If I get good assignments in the Television or film industry, I would surely try that too, especially in Bollywood and in South Indian Movies.
