Aditya Birla Sun Life AMC Launches Apex Hybrid Long-Short Fund Under New SIF Framework
Chandigarh, Mar 7: Aditya Birla Sun Life AMC Limited (ABSLAMC) has announced the launch of the Apex Hybrid Long-Short Fund, its first investment strategy under the newly introduced Specialized Investment Funds (SIF) framework. The New Fund Offer (NFO) will be open for subscription from March 6, 2026 to March 18, 2026.

The Apex Hybrid Long-Short Fund has been designed as a differentiated investment solution for investors seeking advanced portfolio strategies, with a minimum investment requirement of ₹10 lakh. Positioned between traditional mutual funds and higher-ticket investment offerings such as Portfolio Management Services (PMS) and Alternative Investment Funds (AIFs), the strategy aims to provide a flexible approach to wealth creation.
Launched under the Specialized Investment Fund (SIF) framework, the strategy combines equity, debt, and derivatives to pursue superior risk-adjusted returns across market cycles. The fund adopts a long-short investment approach, enabling it to hedge downside risks and navigate market volatility more effectively compared to traditional long-only strategies.
In addition to core equity exposure, the fund aims to capture tactical alpha opportunities arising from corporate actions and special situations. The structure is also designed to offer equity-like taxation benefits, where long-term capital gains for holdings exceeding 12 months are taxed at 12.5% plus applicable surcharge and cess.
