Global Valuation Summit 2023

The Institution of Valuers, a pioneering organization in the field of Valuation, recently hosted the Global Valuation Summit (GVS) at CIDCO Auditorium, Vashi, Navi Mumbai. Held on the 24th and 25th of November 2023, the summit brought together esteemed professionals, experts, and thought leaders from the Valuation community, marking a significant milestone in fostering global collaboration and knowledge exchange well attended by 700 eminent valuers and others from across the globe.

Deliberations on “Mapping the Momentum and Global Outreach of Valuation Profession,” GVS 2023 aimed to explore the trends, progress, and impact of the Valuation profession within the global context. GVS 2023 comprised diverse sessions covering topics such as Global Recognition of Valuation Profession, Evolution of ESG in Valuation, Understanding Regulatory Compliances, Diversified Avenues in Valuation, Evolution in Valuation Standards, and the Advent of Technology in Valuation. The summit facilitated networking and collaboration opportunities, allowing participants to connect with peers, industry leaders, and potential partners, fostering a sense of community within the global Valuation fraternity.

The event witnessed the presence of notable dignitaries, including Shri P K Thiagarajan (President of IOV), Mr. Vinay Goel (Hon. General Secretary of IOV & MD & CEO of IOV-RVF), Sh. Neelkanth Mishra (UIDAI Chairperson), Sh R Arunachalam (President, Institute of Actuaries of India), Sri. B. Sankar (DMD – SARG, State Bank of India), Dr. Anil Kashyap (First President & Chancellor, NICMAR University), Mr. Sachinder Bhinder (MD & CEO, Aavas Financiers Ltd), Adv. Karunanithi, Member-22nd Law Commission of India, and many more.

Global Speakers, including Mr. Nick Talbot (CEO, IVSC), Mr. Nicolas Konialidis (IVSC Asian Director), Mr. Drew Dorweiler (MD, IJW & Co), Mr. William A. Hanlin Jr (President & CEO, IACVS), Dr. Sopon Pornchokchai (President, Thai Appraisal & Estate Agents Foundation) and Mr. Sachin Bhattarai (Central Executive Committee Member, Nepal Valuers Association) enriched the event by sharing their knowledge and insights.

Various stakeholders including valuers from different asset categories, Insolvency Professionals, liquidators, architects, surveyors, company secretaries, and chartered accountants attended the event. They interacted with other professionals from all over the country to learn, obtain, and share their knowledge about the valuation eco-system and upgrade themselves to the modern practices being adopted for valuation.

The Global Valuation Summit was not merely an event; it stands as a testament to the power of collaboration, a celebration of shared expertise, and a pledge to uphold the highest standards in Valuation practices globally with a motto of the Prime Minister of India’s vision “Vasudev Kutumbkam” i.e One Family, One Earth & One Idea.
