PFRDA- Seminar in association with ICMAI on 28-Jan-2022
New Delhi, January 27, 2021: Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) which regulates National Pension System (NPS) and Atal Pension Yojana (APY) and established by an Act of Parliament (PFRDA Act, 2013) has over Rs 7 lakh crore of pension assets under its supervision contributed by 4.90 crore subscribers.
PFRDA which promotes old age income security in India has collaborated with The Institute of Cost Accountants of India (erstwhile ICWAI), a statutory professional body for the regulation of the profession of Cost and Management accountancy in India to disseminate awareness about pension and significance of retirement planning.
The Institute is observing January 2022 as the Pension month and to conclude this promotional campaign, an online webinar is being organized on 28th January, 2022 at 4:00 PM with theme Creating Pensioned Society in India – Importance and challenges.
Hon’ble Minister of State (Finance), Dr. Bhagwat Kishanrao Karad will grace the webinar as the Chief Guest and an expert panel comprising of Mr. William Price (Global Pension Expert and former Official of World Bank, UK Treasury & UK Pension Regulator), Dr. Deepak Mohanty (Whole-Time Member PFRDA and former Executive Director of RBI), Ms. Bahroze Kamdin (Taxation Expert and Partner Deloitte Haskins & Sells LLP) will deliberate on the importance and challenges of creating a pensioned society in India.
Dignitaries from Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance, Chairman PFRDA, CMA P. Raju Iyer, President, ICMAI etc. will address the participants comprising of ICMAI members, senior management professionals, special invitees and students of ICMAI.
