Maharishi European Research University, Switzerland Confers Honorary Doctorate on Producer Sajan Raj Kurup

July 14: Emmy-nominated producer, entrepreneur and Chairman of Creativeland Asia Group, Sajan Raj Kurup, has been conferred an Honorary Doctorate in Vedic Science, Consciousness and Human Development by the Maharishi European Research University , Switzerland.

The honorary doctorate recognises Dr. Kurup’s work across storytelling, entrepreneurship and initiatives promoting Indian knowledge systems.

Over the past two decades, Dr. Kurup has built Creativeland Asia into one of India’s leading independent creative companies, with work spanning advertising, entertainment and media. In recent years, he has focused on projects centred on Indian civilisation, spirituality and culture for global audiences.

His recently released feature film, Krishnavataram, explores the philosophy and teachings of Lord Krishna through a contemporary cinematic narrative. Beyond filmmaking, Dr. Kurup has also been associated with initiatives in cultural preservation, consciousness studies and leadership development.

Commenting on the recognition, Dr. Kurup said,

“I receive this honour with gratitude and humility. For me, it is a reminder that learning is a continuous journey and that every opportunity brings a responsibility to contribute. I hope to continue using creativity, culture and consciousness to create positive impact.”

Dr. Kurup further stated he plans to continue expanding initiatives across cinema, education, cultural preservation, leadership development and philanthropy.

The honorary doctorate was awarded in recognition of his contributions at the intersection of creative enterprise, cultural initiatives and human development.
