ICMAI Marks International Management Accounting Day with High-Level National Seminar on Strategic and Sustainable Growth

The Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI) organized a National Seminar on “Management Accounting: Driving Strategy, Performance and Sustainable Value” in Bengaluru to mark International Management Accounting Day. The seminar focused on the evolving role of management accounting in today’s dynamic business environment and highlighted its contribution to strategy, performance, and sustainable growth.
The event featured expert-led panel discussions with industry leaders, consultants, and practitioners, offering insights into emerging trends and challenges across sectors. The seminar was structured around three major panel discussions covering the Services Sector, Manufacturing Sector, and Management Consulting & Services. Experienced professionals shared their expertise and practical perspectives with participants, making the sessions valuable knowledge-sharing platforms.
The seminar was inaugurated by ICMAI President CMA TCA Srinivasa Prasad, Vice President CMA Neeraj D. Joshi, Council Member and Chairman of the Management Accounting Committee CMA Suresh R. Gunjalli, and Chairman of the Bengaluru Chapter CMA Raghavendra B.K.
During the event, ICMAI announced the prestigious “Management Accounting Award,” which was conferred on Delhi International Airport Limited, headquartered in New Delhi. The award recognizes organizations for their maturity in adopting management accounting principles and practices, as well as their commitment to innovation, resilience, and global leadership.
The first panel discussion, focused on the Services Sector, featured CMA Gopal Ramanan, Vice President and JAPAC Controller, and CMA K. Narayana Rao, Director, Delhi International Airport Limited. The session was moderated by CMA Milind Date, Management Consultant.

The second panel discussion on the Manufacturing Sector included CMA Anil Jerath, Director (Finance), BEML Limited, and CMA Channa Basavaraja, Vice President, Strategic Initiatives, Tech Mahindra. The discussion was moderated by CMA N. Raveendranath Kaushik, Management Consultant.
The third panel discussion on Management Consulting and Services featured CMA (Dr.) Girish Jakhotiya, Management Consultant, and CMA Asim Kumar Mukhopadhyay, CEO, NAVTOM Consulting Pvt. Ltd. The session was moderated by CMA S. Dorai Rajan, Total Cost and Lean Management Educator & Coach.
Speakers across the sessions discussed current industry challenges and emphasized how Cost and Management Accountants can play a significant role in strengthening industries, improving organizational functions, and contributing to the overall growth of the Indian economy.
