Tiger Baby Records presents Sufi Singer Deveshi Sahgal’s debut Album – Woh Jagah
Dec 01st: Tiger Baby Records, the label founded by Ankur Tewari, Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti, is proud to present Deveshi Sahgal, an incredible, fresh voice in Sufi music. A singer of remarkable depth, she weaves soul, poetry & melody into unforgettable performances and is set to mark her arrival as one of India’s most promising artists with her heartfelt and soulful album – Woh Jagah
Known to evoke emotional depth and splendour, her new album Woh Jagah consists of a lively mix of Sufi songs such as Woh Jagah, Ae Re Sakhi, Bulla Ki Jaana, Asa Ishq Namaz, Uzr. Her unique music identity has been showcased in the recently released song ‘Bullah Ki Jaana’ – a Sufi classic that embraces spiritual awakening and oneness with the divine. The album shares a common spiritual theme exploring self-discovery, divine love, and transcendence beyond worldly identities and rituals.

While Woh Jagah has been originally written and composed by Dadasaheb Phalke Award winner Mohammed Muneem Nazir, the other songs are renditions of poems written by famous poets of the past such as Hazrat Amir Khusrau, Baba Bulleh Shah, Dagh Dehlvi and feature Deveshi’s interpretations on these specific songs.
Inspired by classical Sufi poetry and philosophy and interpreted sonically by Deveshi, the album aims to bridge ancient spiritual wisdom with contemporary expression through music. Backed by Believe Artists services, all of the songs in the album are set to release on 1st December.
