‘Pedal for FAST’: KIMSHEALTH organises cyclothon as part of World Stroke Day

Thiruvananthapuram, 3rd November, 2025: In observance of World Stroke Day, KIMSHEALTH, in association with COSMOS, Cyclo Trivians, and Indus Cycling Embassy, organised a cyclothon, ‘Pedal for FAST’ to promote stroke awareness and highlight the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle. Around 250 cyclists from across the city participated in the event.

The cyclothon was flagged off by Dinil J.K., Additional Superintendent of Police, Thiruvananthapuram Rural. He emphasised the importance of raising awareness about stroke, given the increasing number of cases being reported. He added that a sedentary lifestyle and unhealthy eating habits significantly contribute to the growing incidence of stroke.

In his World Stroke Day message, Dr. S. Syamlal, Senior Consultant and Group Coordinator, Department of Neurology, stressed the critical role of time in the management of stroke. He noted that timely and expert treatment can effectively save lives and prevent long-term disability.

E. M. Najeeb, Co-founder, KIMSHEALTH, delivered the presidential address. Dr. Ashok V. P., Consultant, Department of Neurology; Dr. Nitha J., Consultant, Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation; Vinod Y. R., Group Head, Healthcare Promotions and Revenue Cycle Management; and representatives of COSMOS, Cyclo Trivians, and Indus Cycling Embassy were also present at the function.
