International Diplomatic Colloquium 2021 organized by Noida International University

New Delhi, December 2021- Noida International University (NIU) organized a Diplomatic Colloquium on 9th December 2021, Thursday at Crowne Plaza, Greater Noida. Entitled, “Higher education in the Post Covid Era.”, the conference aimed to take stock of progress and look forward to the next steps in making higher education and training fit for the current and future challenges keeping in mind the global pandemic that has affected the teaching and learning practices.
The conference welcomed representatives of 14 countries to come together and gain a joint reflection on National and International experience in moving education and training systems towards lifelong learning environments, and to confirm priorities for future cooperation. Delegates from, Embassy of Ivory Coast, Embassy of Uzbekistan, High Commission of the Republic of Malawi, Embassy of the Republic of Mali, Embassy of the Republic of Zimbabwe, Papua New Guinea High Commission, Namibian High Commission, Jamaican High Commission, The Fiji High Commission, Embassy of Burkina Faso, Embassy of Afghanistan, Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan, Embassy of Yemen and High Commission of the Republic of Ghana became a part of this event.
The program schedule started at 11:00 am with the arrival of Dignitaries and Delegations over tea/coffee, providing a space for open networking. Moving forward, a short opening session with the Introduction of the Event was done by Dr. Apurva Chatterjee; followed by the National Anthem and welcoming of the honorable Dignitaries and Delegations. Then an overview of NIU, its journey in providing Higher Education Post Covid, and the university’s plan for the future were put forward by Dr. Vikram Singh, Chancellor and Ex-DGP, UP, along with Dr. Pransenjit Kumar, Pro-Vice-Chancellor. Moving along, Dr. Jaynand, Registrar of the institution, delivered the Policies and Collaborations in Higher Education; following which, Dr. Pankaj Gupta, Chief Advisor to Chairman, along with DR. P.K Tomar, OSD to Chairman, presented the means for Implementation of Holistic Development in Higher Education. The next 10 minutes of the event were allocated for an Open House Discussion to take place between the Dignitaries. Proceeding the event to its end, Felicitation of Delegations was done, followed by the Vote of Thanks, and a short Photography Session. The event came to an end at 3:00 pm with the serving of lunch.
In the words of Dr. Devesh Kumar Singh, Chairman of NIU, “We are living in unprecedented times. Digitalisation, globalization, and the environmental crisis, with an ongoing global pandemic, are converging to transform every aspect of our lives, including how we learn and how we teach; and this type of conference brings together the wide knowledge and expertise to advance this critical agenda. It has been an honor for NIU to organize this colloquium ”
The event proved to be a great success in regards to bringing together experts, practitioners, international organizations and representatives of civil society, to draw conclusions and reflect on the solutions to put in place
