Agri-Tech Startup Gramophone Appoints Navneet Singh Batra as Co-Founder
07th August, 2024: Agri-tech startup Gramophone has elevated long term company executive Navneet Singh Batra to the position of Co-founder. Navneet brings extensive experience in sales and marketing and aims to enhance Gramophone’s market presence and drive significant growth. Navneet brings over a decade of expertise in the FMCG and Agri industries, offering a dynamic and results-oriented approach. His experience across various distribution channels and markets has been crucial to Gramophone’s success.
In his new role, Navneet will lead the sales & marketing functions, overseeing strategic initiatives to enhance Gramophone’s market presence and drive growth. His responsibilities include expanding in new geographies, scaling marketing efforts, driving margins, optimising customer acquisition strategies, and expanding the brand’s reach across diverse agricultural markets.

Gramophone is an Agri-Tech startup that offers an Intelligent Farming Platform for farmers in India. Through advanced technology, Gramophone manages the entire farmer experience, from agronomy-led advice to fulfilling farm input needs via a distribution network serving over 50,000 villages. The platform works with over 2 million farmers and retailers, providing guidance throughout the crop life cycle, from seed selection and sowing to the efficient use of Agri-inputs.

Previously, Navneet served as the Business Head of Retail Business at Gramophone, where he was instrumental in driving business revenue and profitability, category management, and retailer financing. He played a pivotal role in launching and scaling the B2B retailer business, managing both online and offline marketing initiatives, and strategically pivoting the business model to achieve profitability.
Before joining Gramophone, Navneet led Marketing for nurture.retail where he played a pivotal role in onboarding thousands of retailers across the country and driving digital sales. Prior to that he worked with JioMart, where he led the several Programs, with an aim to transform traditional Kirana stores into modern retail outlets. He managed the entire process from merchant onboarding to enhancing business margins and transactions through targeted marketing programs. Navneet also played a key role in digitising Reliance Market’s wholesale network and implementing B2B lead generation strategies, significantly contributing to JioMart’s growth.
To date, the startup has raised approximately $20.5 million in total funding, with notable investors such as Infoedge, Z3 Partners, Asha Impact, and Siana Capital.
