Artemis and Pinkishe Collaborate to Raise Menstrual Health Awareness in Gurugram
Artemis Health Sciences Foundation (AHSF), the non-profit arm of Artemis Hospitals, in collaboration with Pinkishe Foundation, has launched an impactful campaign on Menstrual Health Awareness in Gurugram. The project – ‘Her Comfort’ is a generous initiative focused on improving menstrual health education and providing hygiene supplies to adolescent girls in underserved areas of the Gurugram region.
The project launch was held today at Govt. Senior Secondary School, Basai, Gurugram. It aims to benefit 1,500 girls across rural and urban slum communities in Gurugram by providing them with essential knowledge, such as overcoming stigma, and resources for managing menstrual health with dignity. The initiative sought to address the critical need for menstrual health awareness and access to safe sanitary products.
Ms. Shalini Kanwar Chand, President, of Artemis Health Sciences Foundation, said, “At Artemis Foundation, we believe that every girl has the right to live with dignity and confidence, especially during her menstrual cycle. Through the ‘Her Comfort’ initiative, we strive to provide both education and essential resources to young girls, ensuring they have the knowledge and products they need to manage their health with ease. Our educational workshops aim to dispel myths and break the silence around menstruation, creating a supportive environment where girls feel empowered and informed. By distributing menstrual kits, we are not just providing hygiene products but also giving these girls the chance to lead healthier, more active lives.”
The launch event had the menstrual kit distributed among schoolgirls that contained essential items such as sanitary pads, undergarments, sanitizers, and educational materials, all designed to last for six months. The initiative is dedicated to promoting hygiene and safety, ensuring that girls have access to necessary menstrual products, and empowering them to make informed, confident decisions about their health and well-being.
Mr. Naveen Kapoor, Executive Director, of Classic Industries and Exports Ltd. said, “The Her Comfort initiative is a crucial step toward addressing the challenges that adolescent girls face in managing their menstrual health, especially in the underprivileged section of the society. Through this program, we hope to break the silence, debunk myths, and remove the stigma that often surrounds menstruation, creating a more supportive environment for young girls.”
The launched initiative is an important step in addressing a critical issue in underserved communities.
