AISECT launches ‘Skills on Wheels’ in collaboration with IndusInd Bank and NSDC to empower rural Maharashtra

India, 8th July, 2024: AISECT Group, a leading Indian social enterprise focused on skill development, higher education, and financial inclusion, has launched an initiative ‘Skills on Wheels’ with the support of IndusInd Bank’s CSR initiative, IndusInd Sattvam and in association with National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC). The initiative aims to provide skill training in the aspirational districts of Maharashtra.

Established in 1985, the Bhopal-headquartered organization has been untiringly reaching out to the remotest corners of the country for the past 39 years to empower people, generate employment for the youth and unfold entrepreneurial initiatives.

The ‘Skills on Wheels’ initiative operates through mobile training units—customized buses equipped with retrofitted tools designed to bring training directly to the doorsteps of rural areas in Maharashtra districts. The buses are equipped with 25 laptops, air conditioners, certified trainers and mobilizers to ensure an optimal learning environment. Already on the path to success, the initiative has managed to train 200 candidates till date. Their target is to train 3,200 candidates across four diverse sectors – IT/ITES, Retail, Telecom, and BFSI (Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance). Each training session spans 20 hours and has a batch size of 25 candidates.

Inaugurating the skill training program ‘Skills on Wheels,’ Mr. Pranav Ranjan, an official from NSDC, expressed his enthusiasm for the initiative, highlighting its potential to create job opportunities for those in need. He emphasized the long-term partnership between AISECT and NSDC, spanning 13 years, dedicated to providing individuals with the necessary resources to succeed. The ‘Skills on Wheels’ program represents a significant step towards achieving this goal.

Dr. Siddharth Chaturvedi, Executive Vice-President of AISECT Group, expressed his enthusiasm for the program, stating, “We are thrilled to launch the ‘Skills on Wheels’ initiative in association with NSDC and IndusInd Bank’s CSR initiative, IndusInd Sattvam. By bringing skill training directly to the doorsteps of underserved communities, we aim to catalyse socio-economic growth and foster a culture of empowerment and self-reliance.”

With the launch of ‘Skills on Wheels’ across Maharashtra, AISECT continues to make a significant step in their mission of empowering communities and promoting inclusive development through skill enhancement.
