Ethiopia Ambassador visits Okaya EV plant in Baddi, Himachal PradeshNew Delhi, May 23, 2023:  Okaya EV, a leading manufacturer of electric vehicles (EVs), recently hosted Her Excellency (H.E.) Mrs. Bizunesh Meseret, the Ambassador of the Ethiopian High Commission (Deputy Head of Mission), at their state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Baddi (HP). During her visit, H.E. Mrs. Bizunesh Meseret expressed admiration for Okaya EV‘s dedication and commitment to quality compliance and innovative robotic technology in their manufacturing process. Okaya EV manufactures electric vehicle frames at their own robotic facility, leveraging Indian-developed infrastructure, machinery, and processes. Additionally, the firm also operates a molding plant and produces tools and dyes for manufacturing purposes. Furthermore, they are in the process of establishing an in-house painting unit designed and developed in India.

H.E. Mrs. Bizunesh Meseret drew attention to the latest LFP battery-supported electric scooters developed by Okaya EV, highlighting their waterproof and dustproof features. These scooters are remarkably safe and exhibit exceptional performance, making them ideal for high-temperature weather conditions. The Ambassador was greatly impressed by the cutting-edge technology, including their sleek and adaptable design, crystal-clear LED headlamps, robust suspension system, and other notable features.

Commenting at the facility, Her Excellency Mrs. Bizunesh Meseret, the Ethiopian Ambassador, stated, “We Work together for better and more economical products for our country and government departments. where an organization can help us with Products and Technology Transfer that helps in Ethiopian local community development, During our exploration, this is where, we came across one of India’s most preferred power companies, OKAYA, as a promising brand offering comprehensive solutions for batteries, EVs, and charging stations. In addition, we witnessed the potential for exploring business opportunities between Ethiopia and India in the EV segment, and we believed that Okaya would be a game changer in the future.”

The visit concluded with a tree-planting ceremony at the Okaya headquarters, where key dignitaries planted trees to symbolize Okaya EV‘s commitment to sustainable practices and environmental conservation.
